Duphonium is an original composition for euphonium duet with band accompaniment. It was commissioned by the Adairsville High School Band for their performance at the University of Alabama Honor Band in 2015. This was one of my first ever compositions to be performed. In the reference recording below, Adam Frey and I played the solo euphonium parts and Dr. Kerry Bryant directed the Adairsville High School Band. It’s a flashy and fun piece for both soloists and the band, with places for cadenzas in the middle (I gave Adam Frey a super E-Flat just for fun). This is a perfect piece for any band looking to show off two euphonium players or bring in a couple of soloists at a concert this year!
