This arrangement of the Philip Bliss hymn tune was commissioned by the Horizon Brass Quintet for the tubist, Chase’s, senior recital in 2020. It features piano accompaniment along with some solos from each instrument and a variation on the rhythms of the theme throughout. It has lush harmonies and it builds up to a chorale-type climax, concluding with a more peaceful and calm ending. It is a great piece for any brass quintet program.
